Several pieces of Madeira lighthouses, photographs, documentation and a panel exhibition on the history of the marking of the Madeira region make up this museum nucleus.

Ponta do Pargo lighthouse rises on a cliff 300 meters above sea level in Ponta da Vigia, the westernmost site of madeira island, whose construction dates from 1922.

In 1999 it was classified as a local heritage of cultural value, having, since 2001, a museum nucleus, where several pieces related to the lighthouses of Madeira are exhibited, from photographs to documentation, concentrating in one space the history of these important monuments for the history of the archipelago.
