The municipality of Machico is truly a land of diverse landscapes and the Portela Viewpoint, located at 670 metres altitude and surrounded by beautiful Hortências, is proof of that.
This viewpoint overlooks the famous Penha De Aguia Mountain, which is the division between Machico and Porto Da Cruz.
In this place it is possible to see many traditional houses that have been stopped in time, with many traditional stories to tell, many with difficult access place, through our well known poios and small paths.
