Located on the west coast of Madeira, in Lugar de Baixo, municipality of Ponta do Sol, the BAM – Madeira Banana Museum – tells the story of this iconic fruit of Madeira and its significant role in the island’s economic development.With immersive and artistic installations divided into thematic areas covering its history, transportation processes, and nutritional role, the Madeira Banana Museum is a place to engage all five senses, let your imagination flow, and explore the culture of the banana through the lens of art, using holograms, photographs, and other dynamic exhibition models.
A visit to the museum also includes a tour of the experimental plantation fields, featuring innovative banana bunch transport systems and greenhouses equipped with cutting-edge technologies, allowing visitors to witness firsthand how the fruit is grown.

This space consists of the Museum, which is accessible, and the Outdoor Area.
